Pouf, scoop, vroom — 5 design finds worth your time – #61

5 things worth sharing this week.

Buonasera from Fano!

Welcome to this week’s installment of what’s hot in brands & products.

We rolled into the Marche region yesterday — four adults, five kids, one ice cream machine, and zero plans.

The day before we left, the 9-year-old announced he’s launching a gelato business. Brought the Ninja Creami, drafted a price list (2 euro per scoop), and made it very clear: no family discount. Not even for his little sister.

Anyone on this trip reading this: better stock up while he’s still figuring out the recipes. The pricing department is getting aggressive.

While he builds his frozen empire, I’ll be scouting local gems for the next two weeks. Marche is like Tuscany’s calmer little sister — less crowd, lots of charm. I’ve already got a day trip to Fabriano (a.k.a. the city of paper) on the list. Will report back.

If you’re new around here: Every week, I share 5 of the coolest products from Europe I’ve discovered in the past 7 days.

I scout, you explore. Let’s get to it!

With love ☀️
Jakob

P.S.: Missed last week's edition? The mountain sun glasses were the most clicked product.

Pouf Rouge et Bleu [🇫🇷]

This pouf shouts, but in a hot French accent.

A bold collab between Babel Brune and Room Service Studio & Valentine Richardson, made in Lille. Stackable. Spill-proof. Looks like art. Works like furniture.

Blankstill Tumbler Sedona [🇩🇪 | 🇵🇱]

These tumblers feel like summer.

Designed in Berlin, hand-blown in Poland. Solid in the hand. And Sedona — that pink-and-blue one — looks like a beach sunset melted into a cup.

Bench for Two [🇩🇰]

You don’t buy this bench to sit. You buy it to feel something.

Originally designed by Nanna Ditzel in 1989. Re-released by Fredericia and A. Petersen. And still one of the most quietly powerful pieces of furniture I’ve seen.

It’s sculptural, serious, and a little romantic. And did you notice the red dot?

Eisdipper Modell B [🇩🇪]

If I should ever get parental equity in the ice cream venture, these are the tools I’d get my son…

The Eisdipper Modell B is pure German problem-solving: no moving parts, no clicky handles — just a sealed grip filled with heat-conducting fluid that uses your hand’s warmth to glide through frozen ice cream.

Pair it with their classic stainless steel bowls — sturdy, unbranded, and built like they’ve seen some things.

Electric Moped [🇸🇪]

It’s what I’d imagine Steve Jobs would ride to Burning Man.

Vässla and Teenage Engineering built an electric moped that’s equal parts retro, futuristic, and really good-looking.

Still loyal to my Super73 — but a pair of these for guests of our Late Checkout apartment in Merano? Wouldn’t be mad.
