Aperitivo O’Clock, sideboard swagger and a burgundy towel 🌞 – #57
5 things worth sharing this week.
Buonasera from Merano!
Welcome to this week’s installment of what’s hot in brands & products.
If you’ve been around for a while, you know I’ve got a soft spot for well-designed hideaways.
Last year, I put that love into a little project of my own:
Late Checkout Merano — a small holiday apartment right in the center of town.
It’s a space where we (my wife and I) obsessed over every detail. Terrazzo floors? Check. Sun terrace for those lazy Aperol moments? Absolutely. A space that’s as much about good vibes as it is about great design.
It’s been my little side project — a place that makes you forget your phone exists (if you don’t, there is still superfast Wifi, so could as well be a workation.)
And while the calendar’s filling up for the summer, I might have a little special deal tucked away for From Europe with Love readers. If you’re tempted, shoot me a message.
If you’re new around here: Every week, I share 5 of the coolest products from Europe I’ve discovered in the past 7 days.
I scout, you explore. Let’s dive in!
With love 🌞

Salad Set [🇩🇪]
I know, it’s “just” salad servers — but these are the kind you pass down to the next generation (even if they don’t cook). German-made by G.F. Heim & Söhne, with a polish so smooth you’ll start staging dinner parties just to show them off.
Late Checkout Merano Apartment [🇮🇹]
A little closer to home (for me, at least). Late Checkout Merano is the kind of escape that makes you forget about your inbox. Terrazzo floors, sun-drenched balcony, and interiors that say, “Yes, I thought about this.” It’s been my side project, my labor of design love — and if you’re even slightly tempted to get away for a few days, send me a message, there is a special deal for you.
Colour Clash Burn Notebook [🇩🇪]
Not your average notebook. Nuuna designed this one with its own proportions (somewhere between DIN A5 and “just right”), wrapped it in a high-quality cover and filled it with thick dot-grid paper (my favorite) that makes every sketch or note feel like it has purpose.
Plie Sideboard [🇵🇹🇩🇪 🇮🇹]
Forget clunky cabinets. Designed by Cesare Bizzotto and Tobias Nitsche, this sideboard is part of Util’s award-winning Plié system. Made in Lisbon, it combines powder-coated aluminium with an architectural design language that’s clean, minimal, and made to last.
“The Grand Tour Collection” Towel [🇪🇸]
If your current towel looks like it’s been through a few too many wash cycles, this one’s the upgrade you didn’t know you needed. Soft, burgundy-toned, and cool enough to make poolside photos actually pop. Plus, it’s one of those things that just feels good.
