Stargazing, Boombox Vibes, and a Motorbike I Want 🌞 – #56

5 things worth sharing this week.

Buonasera from Merano!

Welcome to this week’s installment of what’s hot in brands & products.

Quick shoutout to new readers — Nick Gray featured From Europe with Love in his Friends Letter on Friday.

If you found your way here through him or just stumbled in from somewhere else, glad to have you!

This week’s selection is a mix of daydream-worthy and down-to-earth: a prefab house with a roof you can slide open for stargazing, a boombox that might make your Bluetooth speaker feel a bit… underwhelming, and a cordless lamp that’s surprisingly social (it follows you everywhere).

If you’re new around here: Every week, I share 5 of the coolest products from Europe I’ve discovered in the past 7 days.

I scout, you explore. Let’s get to it!

With love 🌞
Jakob

Anna Cabin Collection [🇳🇱]

Prefab houses can feel more “architect’s fantasy” than “real-life living,” but this one actually gets it right. Designed in Amsterdam, the Anna Cabin has a roof that literally slides open so you can stargaze from bed. It’s not cheap, and yes, it feels a bit like glamping meets showroom, but for one dreamy weekend of starry skies? Totally worth it. (And you can also rent one of their spots in the Netherlands.)

Humble One Cordless Table Lamp [🇳🇱]

A cordless lamp that quietly follows you from room to room like a loyal sidekick. Designed in Amsterdam, the “Humble One” doesn’t try to outshine your floor lamp — it just makes your life easier. Perfect for bookworms, late-night podcast listeners, or anyone tired of tripping over cords.

RM1S Blackout Edition [🇬🇧]

The RM1S Blackout Edition is an electric motorbike with café racer style and zero gas station drama. Built in the UK by Maeving and limited to just 100 pieces, it’s the kind of thing that makes you imagine riding through the city at dawn while everyone else is still asleep. (Or at least, that’s how I see it.)

GB-001 Boombox [🇫🇷]

Remember when music was loud and playlists were on cassette? Designed by WeAreRewind, this Paris-made boombox brings that vibe back with modern power — 104 watts of it, to be exact. It plays cassettes, streams Bluetooth, and has enough bass to make your bookshelf rattle.

Play it loud, play it retro (Available for pre-order)

MC-1 Bed [🇩🇰 đź‡¬đź‡§ đź‡¨đź‡ đź‡¸đź‡Ş đź‡±đź‡» đź‡đź‡ş đź‡µđź‡ą]

Let’s be honest: beds are not usually the category I jump on (haha) when selecting products for this newsletter (cosmetics, pet supplies, food — I tend to scroll past).

But this is an exception. I love how ReFramed really set out to create a design classic when they launched in 2021. Plus, they’ve teamed up with designer Tim Rundle from London, as well as Swiss designer Michel Charlot, and skilled makers from Denmark, Sweden, Latvia, Hungary, and Portugal. It’s design with a full-blown European story — and that’s why it made the cut. (And it looks great in moss green).
